THE FOUNTAIN SCHOOL, SURULERE
1 THESSALONIANS 5: 14 – 18
And we would urge you, brothers, to admonish the careless, encourage the faint-hearted, support the weak, and to be very patient with them all. See to it that no one pays back wrong for wrong, but always aim at doing the best you can for each other and for all men.
Be always joyful; pray continually; give thanks whatever happens; for this is what God in Christ wills for you.
LAUNCHING OF MAGAZINE “FOUNTAIN WORLD”.
Good evening parents, friends of the school, our special guests, ex- Foundations, ladies and gentlemen.
We welcome you to the second part of this program which is the launching of our commemorative magazine “Fountain World”.
The chief launcher of the magazine is Mr. M.O.K Williams.
Mr. M.O.K Williams is an old or ex-parent, a very good friend of the Fountain School and of our family.
He has always put his children in my care. When I was head-mistress of St. Catherine’s Model School Surulere, his daughter, Modupe was a pupil there. When I started The Fountain School, his son Ladipo and his daughter Tolu were pupils at The Fountain School. Many of his nieces and nephews were also pupils of The Fountain School.
Mr. Williams has always shown a great interest in the progress of the school and always rendered help when needed without even being asked.
Mr. M.O.K Williams retired as the permanent secretary Federal Ministry of Trade. He is presently the Managing Director of Akangbe Holdings Limited.
We are honoured that he accepted our invitation to be the chief launcher of our commemorative magazine.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I cannot say all the nice things I know about Mr. Williams on this occasion, my speech will be far too long. I think it is sufficient to say that he is a thoroughly nice gentleman and a truly likeable person.
We are honoured that the co-launchers of our magazine accepted our invitation. They are all parents and friends of the school. The Fountain School is indeed lucky to have such good parents and well wishers.
We welcome you
Chief Mrs. Ogbebor, Mrs. Osinubi, Alhaji Adams, Mr. Osikilo, Mr. Eseri, Mr. Ubajaka, Mr. Ninis, Mr. Uju, Mr. Nwokeafor, Chief Okoroh, Mr. Isiandiso, Mr. Ojerinola, Chief Eddy Obichebendu.
We recognize the presence of our special guests. I shall not mention individual names because this would take too long and every single person we have invited is a very important person -V.I.P.
I thank you all profusely for all your tremendous support and encouragement.
I am sure that all of you are rather curious about The Fountain School especially on this our 20th anniversary. The magazine Fountain world contains a short but concise article on the history and progress of the school in the last 20 years. I am sure it has all the information you wish to know.
